In a former incarnation I was a lawyer in Australia. I came to Japan on the JET Programme in 1997 and worked as an ALT in a tiny place called Mikame, Ehime Prefecture, famous only for a pig-rodeo and abundant mandarins. In 2000 I banded together with another ex-JET and formed GenkiEnglish.com. Now I work as a CIR (Coordinator for International Relations) freelance Japanese-to-English translator in Shikokuchuo-shi, Ehime Tokyo, that is when I am not studying Japanese reading "DeathNote" or getting beaten up at my karate dojo.
